VP of Mortgage Lending

Shannon Guillory

After 23 years of experience in the mortgage industry, and is driven by the reward of making homeownership a reality for our members. She stepped into the role of Mortgage Loan Manager in 2014 and has since been promoted to VP of Mortgage Lending.

Shannon began her mortgage career in 1999 as a Mortgage Loan Officer and gained valuable experience working with GMAC Mortgage LLC and PrimeLending. In 2009, she embraced the role of consumer lending specialist at Education First. However, it didn’t take long to realize that her heart truly belonged to mortgage services. She understood that she could make a profound impact on our members’ lives during this pivotal stage.

Shannon is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and studied Business at Lamar University. She is a member of the Beaumont Board of Realtors and the Texas Credit Union Real Estate Network. She is a wife of 35 years, a mother of three amazing sons, and three beautiful grandchildren.

Mortgage Loan Manager

Jessica Wooten

Jessica, a native of Beaumont, TX, graduated from Central Senior High School and obtained an associate degree in business administration from New Vista College. With a strong background in loan services administration and project coordination, she joined Education First in 2020 as a Mortgage Loan Servicing Representative, eventually advancing to the role of Mortgage Loan Manager.

 “I have an overall love and passion for helping members of the community not only reach their goal of homeownership but to help them to become financially successful overall. I love working at Education First because the staff shares my passion for wanting to help our members however we can.”

Jessica currently holds the role of treasurer of EFFCU's Catalyst Young Professional Group. She is a proud mother of two. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and studying real estate, as she is currently enrolled at LIT for an associate degree in real estate.

Mortgage Loan Officer

Jay Garlington

Jay is a seasoned professional with years of experience in the credit union industry. Starting out as a teller, he gained a solid foundation in member services, allowing him to contribute his skills and knowledge to various credit unions in Texas and Oklahoma. In 2022, Jay found his true professional home at Education First FCU.  

“Here, I continue to excel in my role as a Mortgage Loan Officer, by providing exceptional service to our members. I am passionate about what I do and dedicated to making the mortgage process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our members.”   

While Jay is committed to his professional life, he also cherishes quality time with his daughters and family above all else. When he's not working or spending time with loved ones, Jay dedicates himself to MMA training and immerses himself in the world of gaming.
