With summer in full swing, Education First FCU’s payment plan offers a flexible way to manage extra expenses while staying on budget. You can access funds upfront for planned purchases and pay them back over time, or split purchases into manageable payments to make summer spending more manageable. 

What is Buy Now, Pay Later?
Education First FCU is enabling eligible members to view & accept installment plan offers directly in online banking! 💵 
• Plan Your Purchase offers are for members who need funds upfront to make a purchase
• Split Your Payments offers are available to members who have already made eligible debit card purchases

What can it be used for? 
We offer BNPL plans for both online and in-store purchases. This includes purchases for items like new clothes, school supplies, travel, and the latest technology upgrades ✈️ BNPL can also be used for unexpected, often under-budgeted expenses such as medical, dental, and veterinary bills!    

What can’t BNPL be used for? 
BNPL offers will not be sent for items like loan payments (mortgage, automobile, credit card, etc.), cash transactions such as ATM withdrawals, lotteries, and more. 

How will using BNPL affect my member’s credit score? 

The credit union does not perform a credit check when determining the member’s eligibility for BNPL ✅ However, BNPL plans will be reported to the credit bureaus. 

An unpaid BNPL plan that becomes delinquent and is subsequently referred to Collections will be reported to the credit bureau.

*Offer eligibility is subject to approval and the member must have a checking account to potentially qualify for purchases. Buy Now, Pay Later eligibility is determined by account relationship, including: average deposits, average daily balances, outstanding loans, existing repayment behavior, and insufficient funds history. For Debit card purchases to qualify they must be recent, within the approved dollar amount range, and made at a qualifying merchant category type.
