Sal Guerrero, Vice President Wealth Management, joined Education First in 2003. Sal has lived in southeast Texas his entire life, where he attended Monsignor Kelly High School and Lamar University. He has been in the financial services industry since 2001. In 2008, Sal earned the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC). Sal is an active member of the community, serving on the board of directors for the Beaumont Public Schools Foundation, Young Men’s Business League and Lumberton Education Foundation. He is also a volunteer with the Beaumont ISD ROAR Program, Nutrition and Services for Seniors, and at Lamar Institute of Technology, where he speaks to the students about budgeting and using credit wisely.
When not at work, Sal enjoys spending time with friends and family while playing golf and going on cruises. He and his wife, Marilyn, have three children and one grandson. When asked what he likes most about his job, he shared “I am proud to be working at Education First, helping members to develop a financial plan that will help to secure their financial longevity.”
Art Perez is a lifetime resident of Beaumont, Texas. He is a South Park High School graduate who attended Lamar University, and is proud to have raised his family in the same city where he grew up. Art and his wife, Melissa, and I have been married for 27 years and have two children; Julian, their son, attends the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; and, Jayden, their daughter, will attend Baptist Hospital School of Radiologic Technology in the fall of 2020.Art has worked as a financial advisor since 2002, and joined the Wealth Management team at Education First in 2019. He is passionate about helping others reach their financial goals, and thankful for the relationships he has have developed with his clients over the years. Art is an active member at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont, a member of the Young Men’s Business League (YMBL), and volunteer with Nutrition & Services for Seniors Meals on Wheels program.In his free time, Art enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is an avid runner and has completed 18 Houston Marathons! He also enjoys biking, playing golf, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros. Art is proud to live in the great State of Texas and to be part of the Education First Federal Credit Union Wealth Management team.
Barbara LeBlanc is a proud Texan through and through. Born in Houston, she relocated to Beaumont with her family to 2003 for their jobs in the petrochemical industry. In the years that followed, Barbara was blessed with the opportunity to live abroad where she attended high school in Japan before returning to Beaumont. After graduation, Barbara embarked on a career in the insurance industry. It was during that time that she realized her passion for helping others develop a plan to solidify their financial footing and help them achieve their long-term goals.
In 2015, Barbara joined Education First Federal Credit Union as a Member Service Representative, and in 2019 decided to pursue her dream of becoming a financial professional. Currently the Administrative Coordinator for the Education First Financial Group, she is studying to complete her training under the mentorship and tutelage of Sal Guerrero, VP of Wealth Management, Education First Financial Group.
During her free time, Barbara enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is an active member of the community, volunteering with Nutrition & Services for Seniors Meals on Wheels program, the Southeast Texas Food Bank and Beaumont ISD R.O.A.R. program. Barbara is also a member of the Sabine Chapter of Credit Union Young Professionals.
Barbara is excited to not only be a part of the Education First Financial Group, but also part of the credit union movement that empowers its members.
