Education First is a community credit union with nine convenient locations in Southeast Texas. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works or worships in Jefferson, Jasper, Hardin, Newton, Orange and Tyler counties and employees of East Chambers and High Island ISD.

Teller Full-Time and Part-Time (Beaumont)

Job Summary:

The teller receives members in person and by telephone; provides general credit union information; assists members with deposits and withdrawals; receives cash and checks for deposit and for payment on loans; operates the computer terminal to obtain members’ status, to input information and to obtain withdrawal checks; at close of business, balances cash and summarizes daily activity.

Qualification and Skills:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidate must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.  Candidate must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Must have a general knowledge of computers and calculators.

The candidate must have good communication skills; willing to collaborate with others to achieve a common goal; able to problem solve; develop an attention to detail and critical observation skills; become member service oriented.

 

Switchboard Operator Part-Time (Admin Building)

Job Summary:

The switchboard operator will receive members by telephone; provide general credit union information; direct members to the appropriate department in the credit union should they need to speak with a specialist; cross sells credit union services; performs other tasks as assigned by his/her supervisor; transmits and disburses faxes for the department.

Qualification and Skills:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidate must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.  Candidate must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Must have a general knowledge of computers and calculators.

Front Desk Receptionist Full-Time (Admin Building)

Job Summary:

The receptionist receives members personally or by telephone at assigned station; determines the nature of the member’s business and either transacts the member’s request or refers him/her to a suitable staff member; cross sells credit union services; provides, in person or by telephone, routine information concerning the credit union services or policy, including: what is the credit union; eligibility for membership; how to apply for membership; type of accounts available; the location of the credit union, office hours, telephone services, receives mail and priority mail and distributes to appropriate staff member; maintains member reception area including self-service coffee area; performs other tasks as assigned by his/her supervisor.

Consumer Loan Processor Full-Time (Admin Building)

Job Summary: 

The consumer loan processer provides assistance as needed to the Lending department. Staff member must be knowledgeable of credit union lending policies and procedures; has a thorough knowledge of credit union loan policy and procedures; prepares loan documents to be signed by members for approved loans; prepares adverse action notices and associated paperwork to be sent when necessary; processes lien releases for paid in full loans as well as title/lien registrations; files GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) claims.  Remits GAP and MBI (Mechanical Breakdown Insurance) monthly premiums; other duties as they may be assigned.
