Happy New Year! At last, 2020 has come to a close. With the holidays out of the way, you can focus on your resolutions and getting back into the swing of things this January. Kick 2021 off to a great start with some of these great events taking place right in your backyard.  And don’t forget to mask up!  
Classic Movies are back at the Jefferson Theatre
In keeping with the theme of resolutions, the historic Jefferson Theatre is hosting a motivational movie series featuring a different film to inspire you every Friday evening during the month of January.  You can buy tickets online for Heavyweights (January 8), Rocky (January 15), Remember the Titans (January 22), and Slumdog Millionaire (January 29). 

Live Music at Madison’s
Music Box will be jamming with special guest Carl Richardson joining in on bass guitar on the inside stage at Madison’s on Friday, January 8 from 8:30 – 11:30 PM. Stop by for great food and cold beverages!

The Schooner Blood Drive
A blood donation is one way to make a positive impact during COVID-19, and The Schooner is honored to partner with LifeShare Bus on Saturday, January 9 from 12 – 5 PM for a blood drive.  As a thank you for your donation, they will give each donor a free pint of Schooner Gumbo.

A Night in Harlem
Four like-minded entrepreneurs have merged individual platforms and styles together to bring Southeast Texas a big event by Iconic Fashion Productions.  Enjoy this one-of-a-kind event at the Jefferson Theatre on Saturday, January 9 from 6 – 9 PM or comfortably at home. Get your tickets here.

Kid’s Blacksmith Class
Kid’s blacksmith class is for children aged 9-15 that will allow kids to get their hands dirty while making some fun items on Saturday, January 9 from 10 AM – 3 PM. The class will be at Spindletop - Gladys City Boomtown and only has 6 spots available on a first come, first serve basis. If you are interested in signing up your children to attend, please get in touch to reserve your spot.
Lucas Gusher Re-enactment
The Lucas Gusher gave up its riches for nine days before Anthony Lucas and the Hamill brothers could get the well under control. Watch the re-enactment of the gusher using water and see how high the water will blow and what direction the spray will take. It is always free to enjoy the gusher re-enactment at Spindletop. Stop by on Thursday, January 14 at noon.

Generations Classic Rock Winter Jam at the LogOn Café
The weather is getting cooler and Generations are here to jam the cool tunes. Come out for a great time with good friends. Don't miss this! $5 Cover at the door on Friday, January 15 at 8 PM.

Jimmy Kaiser at Doc’s Yardhouse, Nederland
Jimmy Kaiser will be pickin' & grinnin' and entertaining the masses at Doc's Yardhouse, Nederland on Friday, January 15th, 8 - 11 PM. Kick your weekend off to a groovy start with some live music.

Wild Game Winter Pairing
Join Vine 2 Wine Vineyard and Winery in experiencing a new twist on our traditional pairings on Saturday, January 16 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM in Winnie! Chef Chuck Harris will be pairing delicious creations with their most popular wines. Tickets are $75 each and spots are limited. Reservations are required.

Mom & Me Paint Class
Come paint a project to hang up and meet our frozen princesses Elsa and Anna on Saturday, January 17 from 2 – 4 PM at the Oaks Event Center in Vidor. Enjoy a shaved ice treat from Snack Shack after class. Must pre-register for $50 here.
