Your Guide to A New Member Experience

We are excited to inform you of some exciting changes that are underway here at Education First!  We are currently in the process of converting our core processing software to a new system. But what is a core processing system, anyway? 

The core processing system is the software we use to support our most common transactions on the front line - like cashing checks and other branch operations - and larger tasks on the back end - like processing payroll and wire transfers. This conversion will allow adoption of cutting-edge technology that will provide you with a new and enhanced member experience.  

While the bulk of the conversion will take place behind the scenes, there will be times that it will affect some of the services you use. Our priority throughout this process is to limit the impact on our members. One way that we will do this is by communicating with you frequently to ensure you are informed at every stage in the conversion process.
 
We encourage you to bookmark this page, as it will be updated often throughout the conversion journey. As a reminder, our Member Support Center Representatives are comitted to assist you by phone, email, and Live Chat.

In order to successfully transition from one core operating system to another, this requires a short period of downtime. Therefore, the credit union will be closed the following dates:
 

  • Wednesday, September 29 - Friday, October 1
     

​We understand that this disruption of services is an inconvenience which is why we will offer extended hours when we are back online with our new system.
 

  • Saturday, October 2 - All branches and Administrative Offices of the credit union will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM

To ensure that you receive important notices regarding the Core Conversion, we ask that members take a few moments to confirm their mailing address, email address and phone number. If any information needs to be updated, you can do that the following ways: 

  • Simply print, complete, and sign the Member Data Change Form. Then either mail it back to us at 7025 Eastex Fwy., Beaumont, TX 77706 or bring it to your nearest branch location. 
     

 
  • Update your information within Online Banking: 

    • ​Using a desktop computer: 

      • ​Once logged into your online banking account, click on settings in the upper right-hand corner

      • Next click on profile. From there you can update your address, email and phone number

      • The system may randomly prompt you to answer one of your security questions

      • After successfully answering your question, the system will prompt you to update your address. 

      • Save it and you're all set! 

    • ​Using a mobile device (Address changes cannot be made in our app): 

      • ​Once logged into your online banking account, click on more in the upper right of the page

      • Next, click on settings, then profile. From there you can update your address, email and phone number

      • The system may randomly prompt you to answer one of your security questions

      • After successfully answering your question, the system will prompt you to update your address. 

      • Save it and you're all set!
